What is Sleep Apnea?

Sleep apnea is a disorder that occurs when breathing is repeatedly interrupted during the night. When this happens, the oxygen flow to the brain and other organs either slows down or completely stops. This causes the brain to signal the body to wake up and gasp for air. Oxygen deprivation and interrupted sleep put a lot of physical stress on the body and can cause fatigue, memory problems, poor concentration, and morning headaches.
